One of these days, after Pelosi is just another worthless member of the Progressive Caucus, Issa and Bachmann are going to investigate her. Can you imagine that crazy moron facing an ethics investigation. After all, haven't most speakers been investigated after they lose the majority?

LEEEEEE'S BACK

Would you believe that Lee Iacocca is 82 years old and is still kickin'
butt?
Check out his latest rant.

Just as true today as it was when his book first came out.
He was, and still is, a brilliant businessman!
Often we need to be reminded of Iacocca's words.

Remember Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation from its
death throes? He has a new book, 'Where Have All The Leaders Gone?'.

Lee Iacocca Says:

'Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening?
Where the hell is our outrage with this so called president? We should
be screaming bloody murder! We've got a
gang of tax cheating clueless leftists trying to steer our ship of
state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us
blind, and we can't even run a ridiculous cash-for-clunkers program
without losing $26 billion of the taxpayers' money, much less build a
hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods
their heads when the politicians say, 'trust me the economy is getting
better ...'

Better? You've got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned,
'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the Democrats out
along with Obama!'

You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and
maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this
country anymore ...

The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in
handcuffs ... While we're fiddling in Afghanistan , Iran is completing
their nuclear bombs and missiles and nobody seems to know what to
do. And the liberal press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard
questions. That's not the promise of the ' America ' my parents and
yours traveled across the ocean for. I've had enough. How about you?

I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not
outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest
'C' is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with
crisis being the first.)

Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis.
It's easy to sit there with thumb up your butt and talk theory. Or send
someone else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield
yourself. It's another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling
down.

On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other
time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the
ashes. A hell of a mess, so here's where we stand.

We're immersed in a bloody
war now with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving ... But our
soldiers are dying daily.

We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the world, and it's
getting worse every day!

We've lost the manufacturing edge to Asia , while our once-great
companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs.

Gas prices are going to skyrocket again, and nobody in power has a
lucid plan to open drilling to solve the problem. This country has the
largest oil reserves in the WORLD, and we cannot drill for it because
the politicians have been bought by the flea-hugging environmentalists.

Our schools are in a complete disaster because of the teachers union.

Our borders are like sieves and they want to give all illegal's amnesty
and free health
care.

The middle class is being squeezed to death every day.

These are times that cry out for leadership.

But when you look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the
leaders gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators? Where are
the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common
sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the
point..

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than
making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?

We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and
all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.

Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government will
make it better for them. Now, that's just crazy ... Deal with life.

Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can
restore our competitive edge in
manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time
when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese car companies? How did this
happen, and more important, look what Obama did about it!

Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down
the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care
problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are
eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the Chicago gangsters in Congress. We didn't elect you
to turn this country into a losing European Socialist state. What is
everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on NBC or CNN news will call
them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a
change?

Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom
here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope
- I believe in America .. In my lifetime,
I've had the privilege of living through some of America 's greatest
moments. I've also experienced some of our worst crises: The 'Great
Depression,' 'World War II,' the 'Korean War,' the 'Kennedy
Assassination,' the 'Vietnam War,' the 1970's oil crisis, and the
struggles of recent years since 9/11.

Even really old executives remember how real executives do business.

Let's get the agenda right.
1) Obamacare isn't going to save money, improve healthcare delivery or create jobs.
2) Stimulus can't work because useful projects can't be expidited, due to over regulation. By the time infrastructure projects get past unions, econazis and years of study, the crisis will have long passed.
3) Financial regulation may have done more to insure future bailouts than prevent them.
4) John Maynard Keynes rolled over in his grave when he heard the lies that justify the wild, out of control spending. Keynes would not approve of wasteful spending. Keynes advocated stimulation, through tax cuts and spending for job creation. Keynes didn't believe in manipulating the economy with interest rates, wasteful spending or tax increases during recessions.

The money is gone, revenues are deteriorating, every major piece of legislation has exacerbated the problem and we're heading in the right direction?

a little long perhaps, but this just says so much about our society today...

DEA seeks Ebonics experts to help with cases
Associated Press/AP Online

By GREG BLUESTEIN

ATLANTA - Federal agents are seeking to hire Ebonics translators to help interpret wiretapped conversations involving targets of undercover drug investigations.

The Drug Enforcement Administration recently sent memos asking companies that provide translation services to help it find nine translators in the Southeast who are fluent in Ebonics, Special Agent Michael Sanders said Monday.

Ebonics, which is also known as African American Vernacular English, has been described by the psychologist who coined the term as the combination of English vocabulary with African language structure.

Some DEA agents already help translate Ebonics, Sanders said. But he said wasn't sure if the agency has ever hired outside Ebonics experts as contractors.

"They saw a need for this in a couple of their investigations," he said. "And when you see a need - it may not be needed now - but we want the contractors to provide us with nine people just in case."

The DEA's decision, first reported by The Smoking Gun, evokes memories of the debate sparked in 1996 when the Oakland, Calif., school board suggested that black English was a separate language. Although the board later dropped the suggestion amid criticism, it set off a national discussion over whether Ebonics is a language, a dialect or neither.

The search for translators covers a wide swath of the Southeast, including offices in Atlanta, Washington, New Orleans, Miami and the Caribbean, said Sanders. He said he's uncertain why other regions aren't hiring Ebonics translators, but said there are ongoing investigations in the Southeast that need dedicated Ebonics translators.

Linguists said Ebonics can be trickier than it seems, partly because the vocabulary evolves so quickly.

"A lot of times people think you're just dealing with a few slang words, and that you can finesse your way around it," said John Rickford, a Stanford University linguistics professor. "And it's not - it's a big vocabulary. You'll have some significant differences" from English.

Critics worry that the DEA's actions could set a precedent.

"Hiring translators for languages that are of questionable merit to begin with is just going in the wrong direction," said Aloysius Hogan, the government relations director of English First, a national lobbying group that promotes the use of English.

"I'm not aware of Ebonics training schools or tests. I don't know how they'd establish that someone speaks Ebonics," he said. "I support the concept of pursuing drug dealers if they're using code words, but this is definitely going in the wrong direction."

H. Samy Alim, a Stanford linguistics professor who specializes in black language and hip-hop culture, said he thought the hiring effort was a joke when he first heard about it, but that it highlights a serious issue.

"It seems ironic that schools that are serving and educating black children have not recognized the legitimacy of this language. Yet the authorities and the police are recognizing that this is a language that they don't understand," he said. "It really tells us a lot about where we are socially in terms of recognizing African-American speech."

Rickford said that hiring Ebonics experts could come in handy for the DEA, but he said it's hard to determine whether a prospective employee can speak it well enough to translate since there are no standardized tests. He said the ideal candidate would be a native speaker who also has had some linguistics training.

Finding the right translators could be the difference between a successful investigation or a failed one, said Sanders. While he said many listeners can get the gist of what Ebonics speakers are saying, it could take an expert to define it in court.

"You can maybe get a general idea of what they're saying, but you have to understand that this has to hold up in court," he said. "You need someone to say, 'I know what they mean when they say 'ballin' or 'pinching pennies.'"

this just in from an e-mail I received...

From The London Daily Telegraph

On Foreign Relations

"Let me be clear: I'm not normally in favour of boycotts, and I love the American people. I holiday in their country regularly, and hate the tedious snobby sneers against the United States. But the American people chose to elect an idiot who seems hell bent on insulting their allies, and something must be done to stop Obama's reckless foreign policy, before he does the dirty on his allies on every issue."
--London Daily Telegraph editor -- Alex Singleton, April 11.
One of the most poorly kept secrets in Washington is President Obama's animosity toward Great Britain, presumably because of what he regards as its sins while ruling Kenya (1895-1963).

One of Barack Hussein Obama's first acts as president was to return to Britain a bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office since 9/11. He followed this up by denying Prime Minister Gordon Brown, on his first state visit, the usual joint press conference with flags.

The president was "too tired" to grant the leader of America's closest ally a proper welcome, his aides told British journalists.

Mr. Obama followed this up with cheesy gifts for Mr. Brown and the Queen. Columnist Ian Martin described his behavior as "rudeness personified." There was more rudeness in store for Mr. Brown at the opening session of the United Nations in September. "The prime minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure five minutes of face time with President Obama after five requests for a sit down meeting were rejected by the White House," said London Telegraph columnist David Hughes. Mr. Obama's "churlishness is unforgivable," Mr. Hughes said.

The administration went beyond snubs and slights last week when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed the demand of Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, a Hugo Chavez ally, for mediation of Argentina's specious claim to the Falkland Islands, a British dependency since 1833. The people who live in the Falklands, who speak English, want nothing to do with Argentina. When, in 1982, an earlier Argentine dictatorship tried to seize the Falklands by force, the British -- with strong support from President Ronald Reagan -- expelled them.

"It is truly shocking that Barack Obama has decided to disregard our shared history," wrote Telegraph columnist Toby Young. "Does Britain's friendship really mean so little to him?" One could ask, does the friendship of anyone in the entire world mean anything to him?

"I recently asked several senior administration officials, separately, to name a foreign leader with whom Barack Obama has forged a strong personal relationship during his first year in office," wrote Jackson Diehl, deputy editorial page editor of the Washington Post, on Monday. "A lot of hemming and hawing ensued." One official named French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but his contempt for Mr. Obama is an open secret. Another named German Chancellor Angela Merkel. But, said Mr. Diehl, "Merkel too has been conspicuously cool toward Obama."

Mr. Obama certainly doesn't care about the Poles and Czechs, whom he has betrayed on missile defense. Honduras and Israel also can attest that he's been an unreliable ally and an unfaithful friend. Ironically, our relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority have never been worse. Russia has offered nothing in exchange for Mr. Obama's abandonment of missile defense. Russia and China won't support serious sanctions on Iran. Syria's support for terrorism has not diminished despite efforts to normalize diplomatic relations. The reclusive military dictatorship that runs Burma has responded to our efforts at "engagement" by deepening its ties to North Korea.

And the Chinese make little effort to disguise their contempt for him.

For the first time in a long time, the President of the United States is actually distrusted by its' allies and not in the least feared by its' adversaries. Nor is Mr. Obama now respected by the majority of Americans. Understandably focused on the dismal economy and Mr. Obama's relentless efforts to nationalize and socialize health care, Americans apparently have yet to notice his dismal performance and lack of respect in the world community.

They soon will.

How perfect is this day? Labor Day aka NATIONAL SOCIALIST DAY. To celebrate, Senator Obama will roll out a $100,000,000,000 union stimulus plan. 150,000 miles of highway and railroad improvement, runway and flight control modernization and I'm sure plenty of really cool shit. Non union contractors need not apply.

Wasn't all of this infrastructure crap supposed to be in StimulusI? Shovel ready and all that fraud.

The Glenn Beck jokes are getting annoying. It's funny how many people like to poke fun at the guy or say he tells lies. The late night comedians are just pissed he has a bigger audience that I understand. But what I don't understand is the fact that so much time is invested in trying to smear the guy but they never have the actual facts to back it. Now I at times think the guy can be a bit goofy but his message is one that is positive and it is weird to me that people wouldn't say they feel the same. Are their people out there that really hope the worst happens to America and to having a free America? (besides these dumb ass progressives)

I would like to ask all that dislike the guys message these qustions.

1. Do you belive in the Constitution?

2. Do you believe that you have a right to earn as much money as you can?

3. Do you believe that you have a right to live in a "Free" country?

4. Do you believe you have a right to live free from worries that the government is taking more and more from you?

5. Do you believe the Government does not do a good job most of the time with programs they start?

6. Do you believe there is corruption in our government?

If you have answered yes to these questions then you agree with Beck

Don't call me a "Becky" but the man is my hero. He is #1 on the leftist hit list. He is feared by the Administration. He has put a wooden stake in the heart of the Progressives. He almost single-handedly drives book sales, worldwide. Oprah can't even sell authors, like Beck can. He dominates the Mainstream media because they dedicate more air time and print to Beck than they do to any single public personality. He's the godfather of the tea party which has become the most powerful political movement since anti-war or civil rights.

this just in...

God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him, resting on the seventh day.

He inquired, "Where have you been?"

God smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds,
"Look, Michael. Look what I've made."

Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, "What is it?"

"It's a planet," replied God, and I've put life on it... I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a place to test Balance."

"Balance?" inquired Michael, "I'm still confused."

God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth. "For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while southern Europe is going to be poor. Over here I've placed a continent of white people, and over there is a continent of black people..
No disrespect but Balance in all things.

God continued pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."

The Archangel , impressed by God's work, then pointed to a land area and said, "What's that one?"

"That's Virginia, one of the most glorious places on earth. There are beautiful mountains, rivers and streams, lakes, forests, hills, and plains. The people from Virginia are going to be handsome, modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to travel the world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving, carriers of peace, and producers of good things"

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked, "But what
About balance, God? You said there would be balance..."

God smiled, "Right next to Virginia is Washington , DC . Wait till you

I took a Cadillac Escalade out for a test drive just to drive that sucker before they become extinct...

The salesman sat in the back seat describing the car and all its wonderful options. The seats were of particular interest.

He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat.

I stated the car must be a Republican car.

Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican car and I explained that if it were a Democrat car, the seats would blow smoke up your ass year-round.

I had to walk back to the dealership...

Whats more funny is how the "lame night comedians" try and take the tea party down and Beck with the agument of misinformed when they clearly don't watch Beck or listen to the Tea party message. I equate this to a situation Me and My Girl had. She asked if I liked a certain Music artists song? I said no I don't like his music. She said have you heard the song , I said no but I know I don't like his kind of music. She said well thats just dumb to say you don't like something when you nothing about it.. She played me the song and it wasn't bad. Same deal!
